Launch of the Save our City campaign

A new campaign to rescue Leicester’s failing city centre has been launched by the Leicester City Conservatives.

Driven by the spate of recent closures of well known local stores, including Fenwick, Denhams the Jewellers and Sheehans Music, the new Save our City campaign is championing the concerns of local businesses, shoppers and workers and hold the Labour group to account over these.

Some of the key concerns brought to the Conservatives by local people and businesses include fears around safety, a lack of adequate parking, and poor standards of cleanliness in the city.

As part of the campaign, we are conducting a city centre survey asking local people and businesses to share their thoughts and concerns about the state of city centre - the results of which will be presented to the Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby.
