Across Leicester, local pubs are closing down and being bulldozed. Meanwhile, the City Council seems to be ignoring the problem, leaving our city losing a vital part of many communities.
Once again, hardworking small businesses and local landlords are being overlooked while city centre vanity projects get all the attention. It’s clear that the Council isn’t doing enough to support our local pubs, which are crucial community hubs.
Enough is enough. Leicester Conservatives are calling on the City Council to stop ignoring local pubs and take action. We want the Council to work with the community to find new landlords for struggling and closed pubs, help them thrive, and provide real support for the publicans and small businesses keeping these places alive.
We’re listening to the concerns of local people and gathering ideas to make sure our pubs stay open and continue to serve the communities they’ve been part of for generations.
Sign the petition and make your voice heard. Pubs should be pubs, and the Council needs to start supporting them.
