The City of Leicester Conservative Federation are delighted to announce that Abdul Osman will stand as the Conservative candidate in the 16th April By-Election in North Evington.
Amid the severe concerns for the health of loved ones around the country we will be assisting with efforts to ensure everybody can live as comfortably as possible. We will also be limiting the By-Election campaigning to ensure the safety of our members and the constituents in North Evington.
We are concerned that the wider priorities of the people of North Evington will be missed during the campaign therefore we will attempt to ensure that the people feel they have received a sufficient amount of information during the next four weeks.
Abdul worked hard for the people of North Evington as Councillor for over twenty years. After leaving the Labour Party he joined the Conservatives last year. He commented ‘I joined the Conservative Party as I believe it is the party for everybody, my previous party had changed beyond recognition, and I believe I must stand up for North Evington, especially at this time.’
He continued ‘I am worried that the Council are not taking the residents in North Evington seriously and this is shown by the plans submitted last month to remove the parks and outdoor gym equipment that has only recently been installed for a hefty price.’
Abdul will be leading the party’s effort to assist with the community and elderly groups in North Evington during the Coronavirus outbreak but will also be communicating with residents to discuss the removal of the parks as well as recent tax rises for the ward and on-street parking concerns that have arisen.
