Jack Hickey has been named as the Conservative candidate for Leicester West, following a hustings held on Friday 28th April.
24 year old Jack, a primary school teacher from Leicester, is the chairman of the Leicester City Conservatives and currently sits on the national education committee. Ver the past three months, has met with the Prime Minister and Justine Greening, Secretary of State for Education, to discuss education and schools policy.
Speaking after the vote, Jack Hickey said:
“As a local lad I am delighted to be standing as the Conservative candidate for Leicester West and will be campaigning day and night over the next six weeks.
“It is about time that local people have an MP who can really put their needs first and if elected I will be a champion for Leicester West in Westminster.
“Only a vote for the Conservatives on June 8th can secure Theresa May’s strong and stable leadership and allow the Government to negotiate the best possible Brexit deal for both Leicester and Britain.
“The alternative is Jeremy Corbyn as Prime Minister propped up by others, including the SNP, in a coalition of chaos.”
