Since the elections on 5th May Leicester Conservatives have continued to be active in their local community. We are already preparing for the next local, mayoral and general elections in four years time.
We have started a membership drive which has seen many new members and scores more people ask for application forms to join our Party.
A new Leicester Conservative women's group has been started to address the concerns of Conservative women and of female voters.
Conservatives have continued to attend their local ward meetings and to be active in civic institutions such as school governing bodies.
The City of Leicester Conservative Association has continued its programme of social events. This included a very successful Knighton Lunch on 13th July where many members attended, the Western Park Coffee Morning which is held monthly and Jim Smyth's Quiz which is also held monthly in conjunction with the West Leicester Conservative Club. We are currently planning a range of social events, including many for the Conservative Future members.
Cllr Ross Grant has continued his usual high profile in the media to seek to hold the Mayor and the Council to account while I have continued to be active in the letters column of the Leicester Mercury.
So why not join in? We're active and on the up!
Nick Bryars is Chairman of Leicester Conservatives.
