Praful "Perry" Chauhan

City Centre Ambassador 

 

 

Perry is a local small business owner operating in the city centre. His store, Halford Shoes, has served the city of Leicester for over a decade . Perry attended University locally so understands the importance of business and education links in Leicester. Having graduated from DMU  with a BA Hons in Business & Finance he feels passionate about the city, and the role business can play in making a vibrant city.

Perry also holds a HND in Business and Finance as well as a City & Guilds teaching certificate. Perry believes in giving back to the local community and has used his qualifications to teach others how to successful set up and run a small business. This is a role he happily plays and welcomes anyone to pop into his shop for advice.

 

Perhaps Perry's largest role is as Chairman for Leicester Business Community City Centre  (LBCCC). Here he heads up the local businesses from the cultural quarter and campaigns on their behalf.

 

Having a wide and diversified set of hobbies he also teachers self defence to children and is a certified karate instructor.

 

Perry is currently campaigning to reverse the City Council's decision to place bollards around the cultural quarter which has had a negative effect on the surrounding businesses.
