Residents are paying more while roads keep getting worse
Across Stoneygate, residents are reporting worsening potholes, damaged road surfaces and faded markings.
People expect better for the council tax they pay.
Instead, many roads across the ward are being left behind.
Local residents have contacted us about growing problems on roads including:
- Prebend Street
- Ashover Road
- Chesterfield Road
- Kedleston Road
- Stoughton Drive North
- Highway Road
- Broadway Road
- Evington Road
Residents say temporary repairs often fail within months, leaving roads unsafe and frustrating to use again.
Faded road markings are also becoming harder to see, particularly near junctions and crossings.
What residents are telling us
“The roads are patched over again and again but never properly fixed.”
“You can feel the condition of the roads getting worse every year.”
“Drivers are paying more in tax while basic maintenance falls behind.”
